was formed in 1995 to support the activities of the Museum .
“The Friends of the Falconer Museum”
Since then the group has worked closely with the museum staff to develop the facilities and promote local heritage by publishing information and organising exhibitions and events.
Throughout the years we have helped the museum in many ways such as producing handouts and audio guides in various languages; contributing towards the cost of installing a new sound system; contributing towards the cost of new chairs; assisting with exhibitions and cataloguing work.
With the redevelopment of the Museum the Friends have entered into a new era and are now engaged in developing a new website, blog and podcasts.
Friends members are now attending free courses supplied by the Skills Building for the Future team and are looking forward to using their newly learned skills with help from the Museum Services team.
The Friends are also involved in an major Oral History project where we are gathering together a large collection of conversations from local people about their lives in and around Forres.
